The Platinum Sing-Up Award

We are a platinum singing school because the Headteacher and
governors champion and join in singing as a key part of school life. All
of the staff and pupils enjoy and achieve excellence through singing.
Our school builds links through singing between school, home and the
wider community.
Extra–curricular music
Recorders
- Orchestra
Thursday 12:15pm – 12:45pm
For children who have been learning the recorder for two years and children who have achieved grade one on their instrument.
We learn to play in parts and learn ensemble skills - Beginner’s recorders
Monday 12:15pm – 12:45pm
Children learn the basics of playing the recorder and begin to learn to read musical notations. - Intermediate Recorders
Tuesday 12:15pm – 12:45pm
Children can join this club after they have been in beginner recorders for a year.
They learn more notes on the recorder and begin to have a good understanding of how to read musical notation.
Choir
- Year 3/4 Choir
Thursday 3:00pm – 3:20pm
Our weekly singing sessions include fun warm ups with a strong focus on singing posture and technique. We learn lots of songs in a wide variety of styles. - Year 5/6 Choir
Friday 2:50pm – 3:20pm
Our fun choir sessions include a range of songs from different countries and in different musical styles. Children continue to learn singing techniques as well as singing in two or more parts.
Brass and Woodwind Tuition
