Success against St Mary's Primary School
Congratulations to both the A and B teams who played matches against St Mary's Primary School on 26 January 1012.
The matches were exciting and the sportsmanship was a credit to all involved. The A team won 6-3 and the B team result was also a win, the final score being 8-1.
It was fantastic to see the boys all supporting each other. Well done everyone and thanks to Mrs Atter, Mr Lane and Mr Savill for their help and support.
Belmont bashed by Greighteen Gonerby
Right from the word go Gonerby Hill Foot were unstoppable. Within the first few minutes Gonerby were one-nil up and since then you just knew this was Gonerby’s game.
After a great start Gonerby kept their consistency going played some excellent football great passing and some brilliant shooting. As well as Gonerby playing some good football, Belmont, who were mostly on the back foot kept going and kept on trying for a goal and when they had the chance they countered.
As the second half began Belmont were hungry for a comeback, although they were 11-2 down they thought they could maybe get back because if Gonerby could score eleven then so could they. From the start of the second half Belmont fought and fought and did very well in doing so.
They kept a clean sheet for about three minutes which is pretty good to say it was a fifteen minute a half game. After five minutes into the second half Gonerby started to show why they were 12-2 up and played some of the great football they played in the first half. In the end Gonerby won at a canter.
