Child of the Term

We are always excited for our Child of the Term awards - they are our favourite!

At the end of every term, our pupils vote for the classmate they feel has gone above and beyond what they are expected to do that term.  There are many reasons why a child might be selected and pupils who receive a Child of the Term award are most proud to receive the recognition of their peers.

Child of the Term - Spring 2018

  • McKee class chose Loki Dawber for being a kind friend and always following the Golden Rules.
  • Carle class chose Alyssa Ruby because she is kind, a good friend, plays with everyone and shares. She cheers others up and is a best friend to many children.
  • Sendak class chose Alice Needham because she always follows the Golden Rules and works hard to get gold stars. She is an amazing learning partner and helps others when they need help. She is kind to everyone and a true friend.
  • Potter class chose Esmae McGuffie because she is always friendly to everyone and plays with lots of people. Esmae works really hard and uses her GHF BRAIN. She also puts her hand up lots.
  • Ahlberg class chose Denisha Santhakumar because she is a good role model and always follows the Golden Rules. She is very kind and always plays with different people.
  • King-Smith class chose Isla Atkin because she is an excellent role model and is always helpful and kind.
  • Dahl class chose Gus Veits as he is always willing to help others. Gus listens carefully and uses all of his learning muscles.
  • Blyton class chose Malachi Priest for being a good friend and is always helping others. He works hard and is a super role model.
  • Lewis class chose Josh Tinkley for being kind, helpful and a good friend to everybody. He always listens to everyone in class and explains things to his learning partner, showing a super love of learning.
  • Carroll class chose Carys Davie because she always follows the Golden Rules and is a superb role model. Carys always uses her GHF BRAIN and is a good listener and great friend too.
  • Defoe class chose Callum Hawkins because he always gives everything a go and never gives up. Callum is a good friend and he always follows the Golden Rules.

Child of the Term - Autumn 2017

  • McKee chose Archie Gibson for always sitting sensibly on the carpet, following the Golden Rules and being on Green or Gold! Archie shares things and he is a good friend to everyone.
  • Carle chose Georgia Tait because she is a good, kind friend and she waits patiently for others. She always follows the Golden Rules and is always on Green.
  • Sendak chose Max Blakey because he always follows the Golden Rules and is a good friend to everyone. He is a super learning partner and he works hard to get Gold stars.
  • Potter chose Emily Shevlane for always following the Golden Rules. She always sits smart and listens carefully. Emily is a great friend and works collaboratively.
  • Ahlberg chose Dexter Howard because he always follows the Golden Rules. He works hard, tries his best and never gives up! He is a good, kind friend and makes sure that everyone has somebody to play with. 
  • King-Smith chose Harry Marshall because he is always ready to learn and will share his ideas. He likes to help others and he is a good friend to everyone.
  • Dahl chose Bethany Footitt for being a good listener, kind and helpful. She always follows the Golden Rules and is a great role model.
  • Blyton chose Simone Harris because she is always working hard and trying her best. She is a great role model and never gives up.
  • Lewis chose Millie Hollingsworth for being kind, friendly and helpful. Millie is always ready to learn, listening to everyone and using all of her GHF Brain muscles making sure she is the best she can be. She always follows the Golden Rules and is a super role model.
  • Carroll chose Alex Love for being a fantastic role model and always giving everything a go. He always tries his best and perseveres, even when he finds things tricky. He is very friendly and helpful too.
  • Defoe chose Brooke Laynerie because she is friendly and kind and has settled in really well. She always follows the Golden Rules and she is a helpful learning partner.

Child of the Term - Summer 2017

  • McKee Class have chosen Cara Mickle for being helpful and a good listener. She always follows the Golden Rules, sits sensibly and gets lots of gold stars.
  • Carle Class have chosen Owen Hodges because he always stays on Green. He is very kind, plays with everyone and is a good friend to all.
  • Sendak Class have chosen Lily Doughty because she is kind and a friend to all. She always follows the Golden Rules, going above and beyond to do her best, and helps everyone in class. She has a lovely smile too.
  • Potter Class have chosen Autumn Newcombe because she is a good listener and a great role model. She always follows the Golden Rules and tries her best with everything.
  • Ahlberg Class have chosen Bethany Footitt because she is always kind, always listens and is helpful to everybody. She is a super learning partner and a good role model because she always does the right thing.
  • King-Smith Class have chosen Peyton-Leigh Silverman for being brilliantly caring and always being on green.
  • Dahl Class have chosen Lewis Pimlott because he is kind to others, always follows the Golden Rules and is a great learning partner.
  • Blyton Class have chosen Malachi Priest because he is always tries his hardest in lessons and he is a good learning partner. He is also a good friend and makes everyone smile.
  • Lewis Class have chosen Maisie Williamson for always trying her best and following the Golden Rules. She is kind and a great friend. She is also a super learning partner who is patient and reassures people when they are unsure.
  • Carroll Class have chosen Adam Wainscott because he always follows the Golden Rules, uses his GHF BRAIN and is a great role model. He is also kind, friendly and supportive and works well with others.
  • Defoe Class have chosen Natasha Bradley because she always follows the Golden Rules and is constantly using her GHF Brain. Natasha is always there when you need her too. 

Child of the Term - Spring 2017

  • McKee Class have chosen Max Blakey because he always tries his best and does some super writing. He always follows the Golden Rules and is a very kind friend.
  • Carle Class have chosen Isaac Wilson because he is a good listener and gets lots of gold stars. He is very kind and he is gentle with people and with toys.
  • Sendak Class have chosen Olivia Abel because she always follows the Golden Rules and is a super role model. She is a good listener and is always ready for learning. 
  • Potter Class have chosen Trulli Atter because she uses her GHF brain and is always focused and absorbed. She always tries her best and gets lots of gold stars. Trulli is also a kind friend.
  • Ahlberg Class have chosen Iris Kent Simpson because she is a good friend and cheers people up when they are sad. She loves learning and school and is a good learner. She tries her best and never gives up.
  • King-Smith Class have chosen Jake Addlesee because he always uses his GHF BRAIN and he always follows the Golden Rules. He tries his best with everything and tries more things on his own now.
  • Dahl Class have chosen Alice Harrop because she always follows the Golden Rules and she listens carefully. She is a kind friend and helps people when they are stuck.
  • Blyton Class have chosen Ellie Kufluk-Thackery because she is a good role model and is always helping others. She has a great love of learning and is always listening carefully.
  • Lewis Class have chosen Grace Pimlott for being a fantastic role model, who always follows the Golden Rules. She is a very enthusiastic and curious learner; she always stays positive and never gives up. Grace is a super learning partner who is always happy to help others.
  • Carroll Class have chosen Mariana Magro because she always tries her best and follows the Golden Rules. She is she is friendly, helpful and caring and always there for others. Mariana is a great learner and uses her GHF Brain all the time.
  • Defoe Class have chosen Thomas Entwhistle because he is always challenging himself to improve and has worked hard to beat his test scores in maths and his writing.  He has a good sense of humour and he is a great friend and role model.

Child of the Term - Autumn 2016

  • McKee Class have chosen Pippa Manning for always following the Golden Rules, being a kind friend and playing nicely with others.
  • Carle Class have chosen Phoebe Harrop for being kind, a good friend to everyone and a super role model to others.
  • Sendak Class have chosen Amy Waters because she is always on Green and she is a good role model. She is a good friend because she always does the right thing.
  • Potter Class have chosen Harry Bond because he is a great role model and he always follows the Golden Rules. He is a super friend because he plays with everyone and he is always kind.
  • Ahlberg Class have chosen Joshua Durrands because he is a really good friend - he knows how to ‘cheer people up’ and he always helps people. Joshua does his work quietly and is an excellent role model.
  • King-Smith Class have chosen Millie Hollingworth for always being friendly and a good role model.  Millie always works hard and tries her best.
  • Blyton Class have chosen Mahnoor Khan because she is helpful, friendly, hardworking and always does the right thing.
  • Dahl Class have chosen Joshua Bryden because he is always ready to learn, he is a fantastic learning partner, is always focused and aims for gold stars.
  • Lewis Class have chosen Alex Love because he always follows the Golden Rules, he has a brilliant positive attitude towards learning and never gives up. He makes a great learning partner as he always try to help. Alex is also very funny and a super friend to everyone.
  • Carroll Class have chosen Charlie Bull for always following the Golden Rules. He is a great friend and always happy. Charlie is a great learning partner, always works really hard and always uses all of his GHF BRAIN.
  • Defoe Class have chosen Abigail Buckeridge as she has been an amazing Learning Partner. She loves learning and is always helpful around the classroom. Abigail works hard in all that she does and uses all the GHF learning muscles.

Child of the Term – Summer 2016

  • McKee Class have chosen Connie Warner because she is a kind friend. She always plays sensibly and is really smart.
  • Carle class have chosen Holly Woolaston because she always listens and always tries her best. She gets lots of gold stars and produces great work as a result.
  • Sendak Class have chosen Blake Smith because he has thoroughly embraced Year 2 and has been a superb role model. He always strives for excellence in everything he does and has developed a mature attitude to his learning. We are so proud of you Blake!
  • Potter class have chosen Alfie Edwards because he is a fantastic friend to everyone and a super role model who always tries his best. Alfie listens very carefully to instructions and to his targets to help him improve his work.
  • Ahlberg class have chosen Alice Harrop because she is a great role model and good friend to everyone. She always follows the Golden Rules and always tries her best. She has a smile for everyone and includes everyone in her games.
  • King-Smith Class have chosen Jaitra Raja because he is always ready to learn and listen and he wants to do his best. He is also a good friend who always follows the Golden Rules and will help others.
  • Dahl class have chosen Alex Love because he always tries his best at everything and he regularly participates in whole class discussions. He perseveres with his work even when he doesn’t find it easy.  He is also very kind, compassionate and polite and he is a great role model for his class.
  • Blyton Class have chosen Tylor Williams because he is a great role model and always follows the Golden Rules and tries his best. He is friendly and kind too. He is always ready to help others and is a great friend.
  • Lewis Class have chosen Isabelle Brooks because she always stays on Green and is a super role model. She is always really helpful and kind to everyone and she is a great friend.
  • Carroll class have chosen Abigail Quayle because she always perseveres and even helps others believe in themselves. She always follows the Golden Rules and is very helpful.  
  • Defoe Class chose Mishali Santhakumar because she is a great friend and always kind to others. She is always smiling and a fantastic role model for our school.

Child of the Spring Term 2016

  • McKee Class have chosen Ryan Thulborn for being a good friend, always trying his best and being very sensible in the classroom.
  • Carle Class have chosen Joshua Scott because he always tries hard with his handwriting and he gets lots of gold stars. Joshua always does the right thing and he is very clever.
  • Sendak Class chose Harry Marshall because he has wonderful manners and is a good friend. He is a super role model and strives for excellence which helps him achieve gold stars. Also, he has grown in confidence and has a lovely smile.
  • Potter Class chose Kloe Turner because she is an excellent listener and always tries her best at everything she does. She is always kind and helpful and a great friend to everyone in our class.
  • Ahlberg Class chose Lewis Pimlott because he is so kind to all of the children and is always generous, helpful and friendly. Lewis is a very good role model to all as he always follows the Golden Rules and he always remembers his manners.
  • King-Smith Class chose Mahnoor Khan because she always follows the Golden Rules and helps others. She tries her best and listens to advice and she is very smiley and friendly.
  • Dahl Class chose Carys Davie because she is an excellent friend and always follows the Golden Rules. She is always ready to learn and is always listening carefully.
  • Blyton Class chose Andreea Cojocaru because she has settled in to her new school really well and always tries her best. She is always gentle, helpful and friendly and funny too.
  • Lewis Class chose Amy Thulborn because she always stays on green and follows the Golden Rules. She is helpful and a good role model. She always tries her best and never gives up on her work.
  • Carroll Class chose Jackson Bateman because he has a good attitude and he concentrates and works hard, trying his best to improve. Jackson is a good friend too and he helps others, especially in maths.
  • Defoe Class chose Noah Hollingworth because he is a good role model and he always tries his best.  He is kind and a good friend and always follows the Golden rules.

Child of the Autumn Term 2015

  • McKee Class chose Willow Bolland because she always listens and follows the Golden Rules. She is a nice friend and she can write her name really well.
  • Carle Class chose Autumn Newcombe because she always sits beautifully, listens well and always follows the Golden Rules.
  • Sendak Class chose Lydia Barker because she is a superb role model who is always ready to learn and listens carefully. She strives to do her best in every area of her learning and perseveres when she is faced with a challenge. She is also a very caring member of our class and wants to make sure that everyone is smiling. She is a superstar!
  • Potter Class chose Tia Hodgkinson because she is always friendly and kind to everybody. She tries really hard with all of her work and always follows the Golden Rules.
  • Ahlberg Class chose Ellie Kufluk-Thackery because she is a good school council member and always helps other people with their work or if they are hurt. She is funny and a great friend to everyone.
  • King Smith Class chose Jessica Shevlane because she is a good and kind friend. She always works hard and tries her best. She is good at maths too.
  • Dahl Class chose Kyan Tree because he always works hard and tries his best. He always follows the Golden Rules and always looks out for other people.
  • Blyton Class chose Sophia Locking because she is a super role model. She always works hard and is kind and helpful to everyone. She is a good friend and funny and she spreads a smile wherever she goes.
  • Lewis Class chose Lola-Mae Hodgkinson because she is a great role model, always trying her best and striving for excellence. She always follows the Golden Rules and is kind and friendly.
  • Carroll Class chose Liam Hughes because he tries very hard, including doing extra maths after school. He is a good friend and always stays out of trouble. He is a great goal keeper too!
  • Defoe Class chose Frankie Ware because she is a hardworking and kind person. She’s always on task and she is really helpful and friendly to others. She is always there when we need her.

Child of the Summer Term 2015

  • Mckee class chose Bethany Footitt as she is always on green or the gold star, she always works hard and she is good at writing.
  • Carle class chose Isla Atkin for always being a kind friend to everyone and doing good work.
  • Potter voted for Teya Setters because she is kind and friendly to everyone and she always follows the Golden Rules. Teya always presents her work nicely with neat handwriting.
  • Sendak chose Gus Veits because he is an excellent role model and a kind friend. He tries his best so he is good at everything.
  • Ahlberg chose Isabel Locking because she is very helpful and friendly and will support the other children if they are stuck. She always stays on Green and always strives for excellence.
  • Blyton class chose Toby Merryweather because he is friendly and a good role model. He has an excellent attitude towards his learning and he always concentrates and works hard.
  • Dahl class chose Maisie Williamson because she is consistently on green and is a fantastic role model for others. She is a great friend and a brilliant classmate.
  • King-Smith chose Emily Geeson because she is kind, helpful and caring and she is really supportive; she is always there to cheer people up when they’re sad. Emily always follows the Golden Rules.
  • Lewis chose Charlie George Jackson because he is always kind and helpful, he always stays focussed and pays attention and he is a great role model.
  • Defoe chose Jasmine Peacock  because she always follows the Golden Rules and tries her best with everything. She has a great attitude to learning and she is always smiling. She is very kind and a good friend.
  • Carroll voted for Portis Gray because he is always on his best behaviour and he is a great role model. He always tries his best and he worked very hard behind the scenes in our performance.
