Boccia House Tournaments

This term saw the introduction of the House Games competitions for Years 3/4 and 5/6.

On Wednesday the 12th it was the Year 3/4’s who kicked off this term’s Boccia tournament, with 2 teams of 3 children, from each house, competing to be crowned House Boccia Champions. Considering most children had not played Boccia before, we had 102 sign up throughout KS2, which was extremely pleasing to see. All of the Year 3/4’s who were chosen to take part behaved impeccably during the competition and were a credit to their houses. After an afternoon of matches between the houses, it was Barn Owls who came out on top after winning all 4 of their matches. The remaining houses fought very close for 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.

On Thursday 13th it was the turn of the Year 5/6’s to take on each other in the House Sport Boccia tournament. It was another closely fought contest between the houses and it was Robins who eventually came out on top after 8 very competitive matches. Once again, all pupils were gracious in victory and defeat and were a credit to their year group and individual houses.

Well done to all who took part in this term’s inaugural House Sports competition and we look forward to doing it all again next term at Netball which I’m sure will be just as competitive and enjoyable as it was this time.
