Sam Ruddock Assembly

Paralympian makes another inspiring visit.

On the 19th of April, Sam Ruddock came to our school to talk about ways that we can keep our bodies healthy. Sam Ruddock is a Paralympic athlete who took part in the Rio 2016 Olympics with the shot put. He is currently training for the 2020 Olympics that will take place in Tokyo.

Sam taught us the 4 main steps of keeping our body healthy. These included, having a balanced and healthy diet, getting at least 9 hours sleep a night so that we are refreshed for a new day of school, drinking lots of water to keep us hydrated and exercising regularly to keep our muscles strong.

Sam also encouraged us by telling us that we can all achieve our dreams if we put our minds to it and persevere. We really enjoyed Sam’s assembly and we all came away from it feeling inspired.
